No one documented and celebrated the history of Baltimore’s Woman’s Industrial Exchange (WIE) until the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center began a two-year project to preserve artifacts found in the building and to conduct and archive oral histories of the women who kept the WIE in operation for over 100 years. The grant was funded by the Baltimore National Heritage Area.
