Rosalie Simon Maczis
March 15, 1925-July 16, 2015

Rosalie Mary Simon Maczis was born on March 15, 1925, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Adam Edward Simon and Nettie Lee Jefferson. She had 11 siblings.

Rosalie was Catholic and married Stephen Joseph Maczis on February 1, 1947. Stephen was born on November 19, 1924. Together they had two sons, Robert and David Maczis, and two daughters, Susan Maczis Devlin and Catherine Pokorney.

Rosalie was associated with the Woman’s Industrial Exchange in the 1930s. She was best friends with Phyllis Sanders. The pair worked at the Exchange together from the time they were teenagers into their adulthood as waitresses.

Stephen sadly passed away on November 15, 1987, four days before his 63rd birthday. Rosalie passed away on July 16, 2015, at the age of 90, in Baltimore, Maryland. She is buried at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore and was survived by her four children.
